Tech Gifts 2025 Recommendations by WV-Tech Guy

So, it's time to go Christmas shopping...but what do you get the IT HERO in your life?

I’m going to give a run down on a few of the items that any printer-fearing nerd would love to get this year:

  1. MacBook Air – You can get one of these hot to trot light weight battery friendly MacBooks for next to nothing.  There are several variations on the market right now and as long as you get one with at least the M1 chip and 256gb of storage you’ll have a solid piece of kit. Great hardware, great performance, and great price.

  2. Magsafe battery bank – There are several options out there to purchase, but my favorite is the Anker 621. You can usually grab one for around $30. It’s a great accessory that helps get another couple hours out of your mobile device.

  3. Logitech MX Master 4 – Keyboard and Mouse, wireless, rechargeable, just works. If your workflow moves between devices the MX series can really be a game changer. I’m not usually in favor of wireless accessories but this is an exception. The MX series are workhorse devices.

  4. WUBEN G5 – EDC users rejoice, an extremely affordable, action packed, rechargeable utility light. This thing can do just about everything related to slinging photons. Any geek will be tickled finding this in their stocking instead of a new tie.

  5. Lexar D400 – Yes, this is a jump drive. Sure, it’s 128gb of storage, it can do both USB-A and USB-C, it’s a brand most people can pronounce! That is not why I recommend this little guy. IT IS SO SATISFYING TO FLIP! Another great EDC item too.

Alright, that’s all I’m giving up. Gifts mean more if they come from the heart - this is just meant to be a good place to start.

There’s something for every IT HERO on this list!
